M&C Saatchi Sydney group creative director Sharon Edmondston has departed the agency after nearly nine years. She joined the agency in August 2015 as a creative director and was later promoted to group creative director in February 2023. During her tenure, Edmondston co-chaired the M&C Saatchi Group’s Employee Led Network for Women (FEMM&C) and served as joint national and NSW AWARD School co-head alongside Scott Detrick. Before joining M&C Saatchi, Edmondston spent five years at Leo Burnett Sydney in a similar capacity as creative director. Her achievements include winning awards at international shows, managing major accounts, and contributing significantly to the growth of world-class agencies and the broader communications industry.
 
Hemant Shringy has been appointed as the new chief creative officer of FCB Ulka. Bringing over two decades of experience in the advertising industry, Shringy will work closely with FCB Ulka CEO Kulvinder Ahluwalia and engage with leaders within FCB Group India to elevate creative standards and output. Known for his innovative and curious approach to advertising, Shringy has effectively guided major brands such as P&G’s Ariel, Whisper, and Visa. 
 
Sarah Louzioui, managing director of Havas Cambodia has been named to the Cannes Lions 2024 Shortlisting Jury, marking the first time that a representative from Cambodia has selected to shortlist the Cannes Lions awards. 
 
Experience design company, Imagination, has promoted Melbourne managing director Alistair Wilson to MD for Australia, overseeing the Sydney and Melbourne studios. In his new capacity, Wilson will drive growth and work delivery for clients and will spearhead efforts to expand the client portfolio.
Wilson brings over 25 years of service to Imagination, having held leadership roles in the UK, Hong Kong, China, Australia, and most recently the US. Wilson succeeds Antony Gowthorp who is seeking new opportunities elsewhere. 
 
Leverate Group, which recently joined Stagwell as an affiliate agency, has appointed Monica Hynds as the managing director for its Singapore office. 
 
Australian monthly, Mamamia, has appointed former Carat veteran and Campaign 2020 Woman to Watch Danni Wright as head of strategy to lead the strategic product across Mamamia and Squad, Mamamia’s content marketing agency, starting June 24th. Wright will be part of the sales leadership team and also work closely with the content leadership and audience development teams to identify and create new content opportunities.
 
Anime streaming platform Crunchyroll has appointed India-based Bloomingdale PR and Singapore-based Eastwest PR as their strategic communications agency partners in India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore. 

Lisa Hu has joined consulting firm AlixPartners as partner and managing director and will lead
the consumer and retail practice in Greater China. Previously, Hu was a Partner in the strategy and transaction practice and Greater China head of consumer products and retail at EY-Parthenon. Previously, she also served as a managing director and partner at Boston Consulting Group.

Experiential agency The Company We Keep (The CWK) is expanding its team across APAC with five new hires to support client growth. Joining the ranks of the Sydney team is producer Andrea Rodriguez, studio manager Caroline Fox Drinkwater and new project manager, Noa Friedmann. Supporting the team in Singapore, is newly-appointed project director Charis Peters and project coordinator Jing Ting. Originally from Los Angeles, Rodriguez brings a wealth of expertise in CRM strategies and producing bespoke VVIP client experiences for luxury brands such as Chanel and Cartier. Fox Drinkwater has held traffic, production and studio coordination roles at PLAY Communications, de Luxe & Associates Luxe and ABC. Friedmann will support the Sydney operations and will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and delivery of immersive brand experiences across all clients. Peters is an event producer who has overseen large-scale, complex, high-budget events for clients such as Adobe, Workday, and Enterprise Singapore.
 
Research agency TRA has appointed six new hires to its Sydney and Melbourne teams, stemming from organic and new business growth. The new staff and their individual specialist skills include:
  • Alexandra Fulton, account lead, Melbourne (quant research and strategy)
  • Nana Kawaura, account lead, Sydney (Quant research, brand management, insights and strategy)
  • Jemimah Gray, qualitative lead, Melbourne (qualitative research, trend forecasting, strategy)
  • Claire Timmons, senior qualitative consultant, Melbourne (strategy, qualitative research)
  • Charlotte Saunders, senior consultant, Sydney (strategy, qualitative research)
  • Sam Stalley, consultant, Sydney (quant research, spanning tracking and segmentation)
Australian home builder G.J. Gardner has appointed WiredCo. as the brand’s creative and content agency of record. The family business, which has operated since 1983, operates under a franchise model across Australia, New Zealand and the USA. WiredCo. was pitched against ten agencies and has been retained to deliver strategic and creative duties that position the brand for growth via a new platform. In addition to brand duties, the independent shop will also take the lead in developing the brand’s social media and content, along with other special projects.
 
Katherine Teo has been promoted to chief marketing officer of Carro. Teo joined the brand as regional head of marketing in 2021, leading marketing for Carro and its subsidiaries in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Japan. Before Carro, she was founder and partner of Create Collective. Prior to that, she worked for M&C Saatchi and Leo Burnett.

Amy Ho has left The Trade Desk Hong Kong. As an ad tech veteran, Ho joined TTD in 2020 as senior director, data partnership. Before TTD, she worked for Integral Ad Science as product strategy director. Prior to that, she worked at Hong Kong Foodie, Paypal, Facebook and Microsoft. Ho was selected into Campaign’s Women to Watch Greater China in 2022

Special bolsters senior creative leadership, promoting award-winning creative professionals Max McKeon, Sian Binder, Lea Egan, Nils Eberhardt and Simon Gibson to group creative directors. McKeon has worked at Special for three years. Gibson and Eberhardt teamed up at Special over three years ago. Binder and Egan joined Special in 2020.  

ITA Group, a global leader in engagement solutions, has acquired Sydney-based Performance Incentives and appointed Mari Kauppinen as managing director of ITA Group’s Australia office. Performance Incentives, founded in 2001, will be integrated into ITA Group, forming the new ITA Group office in Australia. Kauppinen leads ITA Group in Australia, bringing over 25 years of award-winning B2B demand generation and category marketing expertise. She was most recently founding managing director for The Marketing Practice and was previously head of marketing, enterprise, commercial and channel at IBM. 

Havas Red has been named agency of record for PagerDuty in Australia, following a competitive tender process. Tasked with amplifying awareness of the PagerDuty Operations Cloud, Havas Red is poised to elevate PagerDuty's presence within the region through earned media and effective media relations, and executive visibility. PagerDuty, headquartered in Silicon Valley, is keen to fortify its position to address the needs of its Australian customers effectively. 

Seven West Media (SWM) has appointed Anthony De Ceglie as director of news and public affairs since Craig McPherson has stepped down from the role. De Ceglie will be director of news and current affairs and editor-in-chief at Seven West Media. De Ceglie has spent over five years at SWM, and is currently editor-in-chief at Seven’s The West Australian, The Sunday Times, PerthNow and its suburban newspapers, 19 regional newspapers and recently launched digital newspaper, The Nightly.

Omnicom Media Group (OMG) Indonesia has promoted Rohan Mahajan, formerly managing partner at PHD Indonesia, to the position of chief operating officer, Media Services. Mahajan will oversee a robust team of 300 professionals across OMD, PHD, Transact, and Annalect in this elevated role. He reports directly to Rajat Basra, CEO-president director of OMG Indonesia Mahajan’s promotion underscores his business acumen and innate commercial strength, which have significantly contributed to the agency network’s growth and successful client relationships since his arrival in 2017. Tony Harradine, CEO of Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific, expressed confidence in Mahajan’s ability to sustain momentum at a group level and guide clients through the evolving media landscape in Indonesia—a dynamic economy ripe with growth opportunities for OMG.
 
Jacqui Lim, the CEO of Havas Media Group Singapore and chief growth officer for SEA and North Asia, has stepped down after nearly a decade with the agency. Rana Barua, the group CEO for India, Southeast Asia, and North Asia, will assume additional responsibilities for the overall operations of Singapore. In a LinkedIn post, Lim, a seasoned media professional, expressed her gratitude to the team and clients. Her journey began at Havas in 2014 as the managing director of Havas Media, and she steadily climbed the ranks to become CEO. She was pivotal in securing clients such as Changi Airport Group, Singapore Management University, AIA, M1, and Cycle & Carriage during her tenure. 
 
Deirdre Chew, formerly the head of measurement specialists at Google, will assume the leadership role at StackAdapt for Southeast Asia, headquartered in Singapore, effective April 30. Her mandate includes driving StackAdapt’s business growth with independent agencies and holding companies. As StackAdapt intensifies its focus on client-facing teams and expands investments in the SEA region and APAC, Chew’s 14-year experience in the ad tech industry positions her well for this role. Notably, she rose through the ranks at Google, culminating in her appointment as head of tech partnerships in 2021 and head of measurement specialists in 2022.
 
DiDi, Australia’s second-largest rideshare platform, has appointed Tim Farmer to lead brand marketing across Australia and New Zealand. Farmer brings eight years of experience from his tenure at The Walt Disney Company, where he held various marketing roles, including partnerships lead and marketing director for Disney+, Marvel, Pixar, National Geographic, and Searchlight Studios. His track record includes successfully launching Disney+ in the ANZ market. Before Disney+, Farmer contributed to media agencies Carat and UM in Australia. Now, at DiDi, he will be tasked to drive significant growth by enhancing the brand’s visibility and differentiation in a competitive market.
 
Outbrain has appointed Chris Oxley to the newly created role of country manager for Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Oxley brings over 18 years of experience in digital media to lead the charge to drive expansion of Outbrain’s advertising business across ANZ and Singapore. Oxley was most recently national head of digital sales for Foxtel Media, where he launched programmatic TV and led the team to commercialise advertising on the streaming platform Binge. Prior to that, he worked at Yahoo and BSkyB.
